In that moment, I was on cloud nine! My client’s trust in me had a profound emotional impact. This was one of those moments where I was reminded why I love what I do- documenting adventurous love stories for my couples, as we wander and admire the earth with reverence.
The Elopement Experience
STEP BY STEP, HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT
01. Connect + Meet
We get to know each other and chat all things & details.
First, you fill out my contact form, we'll hop on a phone call to chat important details about your vision for your elopement day.
On our phone call, you'll learn that I'm much more than just a photographer. I help each of my booked couples figure out all the important details about their day, like: vendor recommendations, help picking the perfect trail for a ceremony, tailored timeline for your elopement, securing commercial use permits for photography coverage, finding the right officiant (or being the officiant myself if needed- Yes! I am ordained!)
I will help you craft the perfect timeline for your wedding day, based around all the activities you want to do, places you want to see, and ideal portrait locations with the best lighting available!
If you need help deciding or narrowing down your choices on where to get married- whether i've been to that location before or not- I always do tons of research to help my couples pick special spots for their ceremony and portraits.
I will help connect you with local vendors for your special day (florists, catering, ordainer/officiant, Air Bnb ideas for places to stay)
Some places require a permit to take photos or have a ceremony.. it can certainly become confusing- but i'm here to help make it a smooth process so that all the nitty gritty details are crossed off before your big day!
02. We make it official!
After discovering that we are a perfect match for each other, we make it official! I send over an agreement & an invoice to reserve your date on my calendar.
03. The planning begins
First thing's first, I send you a Location Questionnaire, so I can scout for your perfect ceremony location.
You two make a date night out of it, fill out the questionnaire and share specific details with me about what you envision your ceremony spot being. Are you on the beach? On top of a cliff overlooking Hawaiian mountains with ocean in the background? Or in the Hawaiian jungle surrounded by lush plants and vines!? A private waterfall venue on the north shore? What about after your ceremony? Boat picnic + snorkeling in the warm Hawaiian waters, portraits at sunset!?
THE WORLD IS YOUR PLAYGROUND!
Having all of these important details in writing helps me craft an epic custom tailored Location Inspiration Guide- just for you! I usually spend ~30 hours scouting and creating the guide, (so I'm a full GO once I receive the info from you.) With your location picked, we move onto the next step...
04. Custom Timeline Creation
Once your ceremony location is picked + a couple of extra fun portrait locations, I send you a Timeline Questionnaire.
This helps me craft a custom timeline for your elopement day and helps me weave in those extra activities you're wanting like that epic helicopter tour, boat ride or picnic! The timelines I build can be flexible, leaving room for spontaneity. I find that they are incredibly helpful for keeping us on track, so that I can make sure you get to do all the fun things on your wedding day.
05. Locking in the details
Once your timeline is created- we finalize and iron out all the details to make sure your elopement day + activities are set. We'll chat about getting the best lighting your ceremony location, discuss getting ready photos, your bnb, where to plug in those fun activities in your timeline etc. We also make sure you have your marriage license appointment set up, commercial and special use permits, etc. All 3 of us (me and your boo) work together to get everything dialed in 2-3 months before your elopement day.
This step is super important because we get to touch base on a phone call, and if everything is GO, then you both can start booking vendors (since you have the big picture for the timeline.) If revisions are still needed, we go over the details of what you'd like changed + share access to a google doc where you can add comments about changes, anytime, and then I review and puzzle piece you're heart's desires together, hehe!
06. Your Day is here!
WOW! Your wedding day arrives and we finally meet in person (if we haven't met already that is!). You spend your day blissed out, adventuring with your beloved and you leave it to me to steward an epic elopement experience and to document those special moments between you two.
07. a heart felt thank you
Within 1 week after your elopement, you receive a sneak peek of 3-5 images.I work on rest of your photos and deliver the full gallery within 8 weeks from your elopement day.
Then we become best friends forever and visit each other as we travel the world, deal!?
